Mama's Pajamas Brand.

What are Mama's Pajamas?

Mama's Pajamas are a learning tool developed by a mom for other moms. While breastfeedign our daughter, Claire, I noticed that, aside from her occasional glances up at me, her only view was of my pajamas. Already knowing the benefits of breast feeding and the benefits of visual stimulation on infants. I decided to combine the two. I took the idea of "Smart Toys" one step further and made a pair of pajamas out of fabric with a bold pattern in primary colors. Our daughter immediately noticed the designs and seemed more content to nurse and cuddle with me. I wanted all moms to share in my discovery, so "Mama's Pajamas" were born! They are available in both Nursing and non-Nursing, perfect for every mom! Mama's Pajamas are pajamas with purpose!

eBay Selling and Leathercraft

I love selling on eBay for so many reasons! I am always researching new stuff and learning about new people and new things. This week I had a bunch of vintage leather craft booklets and etc to list. they are really cool looking and almost makes me want to take up working with leather. Anyway, here is some of the information my research turned up. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. The information below is from Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Stohlman

Al Stohlman (August 15, 1919 – March 6, 1998) was a leatherworker and author of numerous books on the art of leather crafting, including books on hand sewing, embossing, carving, and saddle making.

His wife Ann (June 30, 1924 – June 10, 2004) was a collaborator on many of his books, as well as a collaborator on the leather projects used to illustrate the books. Well, it's not! With four sons and a daughter who loves VG (Video Games) we've had these around for YEARS! I'm talking ATARI, okay? But this Wii - well, even this mom thinks it's way cool! The first time I got to watch someone play (you don't think _I'm_ gonna take this on at my advanced age, did ya?) I laughed so hard I spilled my drink! We were at a friend's house and they set up the Wii for Jonathan (17) and Kirk (then 15) to play. They decided to BOX each other. It was SO realistic, they were both winded and sweating when the bout ended! And to watch them 'punching' and 'dodging' well, ya just had to be there!

So, anyway, I found this great wholesale deal on these Wii Launch Kits - really neat. Has two gloves for the controllers, a Limited Edition Wii Baseball cap, a big plastic organizer/storage thing and on top of all that you get a 12 month subscription to GamePro Magazine and a trial subscription to GameFly (where you rent Video games like at NetFlix you rent movies). So, Retail on these was $34.99 and I have them on eBay for $9.99! So check it out

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160207626409

thanks for playin'

Kat

Lord of the Rings Figures are pretty realistic!

since I do a lot of consignment sales on eBay, I get a wide variety of things to sell. Each new item takes a bit of research and I usually enjoy delving in to all that. This last month, I'm selling for a very big Lord of the Rings fan. I mean, she must have HUNDREDS of these figures and has kept them all in pristine condition. They've never been removed from their boxes, just displayed as is. When I first started listing them I noticed they were extremely detailed and very well-made. Not what I would consider your everyday action Figure (my expereince with my sons' Super Heroes and Smurf figures) but these were just incredible. I mentioned it to my customer and she told me the neatest thing. When they got ready to make these figures, they got the original actors and acctresses from the LOTR movies and used a brand new laser imaging system to recreate them for the figures. The Orlando Bloom one is so detailed - really cool! Anyway, take a look at old Orlando as Legolas and let me know what ya think. And ladies, don't blame me if you can't resist him, LOL
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160206987185

Colorado Springs Online Sellers unite! eBay, anyone?

Happy February everyone! I have started a group on Yahoo for online sellers here in Colorado Springs. We had our 1st meeting in Nov. One of the subjects we talked about was selling for others. One gal did a car on consignment and sold it for $26,000. She had lots to tell on some of the pitfalls and the commission she charged. The group is small right now, but our goal is to grow slowly. The main idea for the group is to help each other with information, brainstorming, lesson learned, and to create a synergy that we vent and try to resolve problems with people we trust. We have a short questionnaire when someone requests membership in the group - just simple things like eBay name, real name and stuff like that. We feel that we want to know a little about the members before we started sharing some hard learned lessons or information. We have both men and women - one who is just starting out, a gold PowerSeller and everyone in between besides a certified eBay instructor. If you would like an invite to the group, just let me know. I'm trying, really. In fact, most people that know me seem to think I'm a bit too much 'Pollyanna' sometimes. But this year, for the very first time, it was awful. We had a great meal, probably the best tasting turkey in years thanks to my husband, and all the trimmings. We had a friend over who wound up with no place to go so that felt good. And we had light, festive conversation around the table. But afterward, I experienced so much pain, it felt almost physical. Now, we've been a military family since we were married. We've moved very often and almost never spent Holidays with extended family. I was always okay with that and just concentrated on my own family and usually a few friends. I never cared much and didn't think it affected me. But yikes, this year was different.

My oldest son has been married for several years and lives in Alabama with his wife, daughter and BRAND new son (Hi Braden!). My daughter lived in FL for several years and for the last two Thanksgivings has been here in Colorado with us. My middle son just started college in Alabama this year and is in the same town as his older brother. My two 'babies' at home are in High School and will graduate next year and the year after that. I don't know what combination of events created this emotional upheaval this year. I know it's been very painful that I haven't met my new grandson yet. I've been trying to get an airline ticket since he was born. But each time I found a good offer, my husband would be having a bad time and ask me to stay. Jeff is disabled now and depends on me to take care of all the driving and etc for the family. This was also Thomas' first major Holiday away from home. . . .

I am so proud of my oldest son and his wife that it's probably almost sinful. Ken and Jamey are such great people. They are awesome parents. Ken works extra hard so that Jamey can stay at home with the children full-time and Jamey is such an awesome mom I can't put it into words. They are doing what they need to be doing and doing it so well. I know they are where they are supposed to be and I'm so happy for them.

I'm proud of my middle son Thomas also. He worked very hard to get into college and ended up with TWO sports scholarships. He is doing well in school and I know he is doing what he should and is where he needs to be.

In the past, that would have been enough; to know that they were where they needed to be and happy and healthy. But not this year. Why? I don't really know. I just know that my heart actually hurt each time I thought about them. Empty nest? If this is the beginning, I don't think I'll survive this road. Age? Hormones? I don't really know. But I know that sometimes feelings don't matter, and you have to keep doing what you know you need to do. So if you've survived empty nest (and I still have two at home!) and have some advice, I'm listening . . . . and to my parents who have passed on, "I'm sorry". I really had no idea how much it must have hurt you when I took your grandson to Italy. . . . . when I didn't make it home for Holidays at least once in a while, and I wish I could hug you both now.

Kat

WHAT is a Sleep Study?

yep, that's me and it's not halloween, LOL

Recently I've been experiencing a few symptoms so I told the doctor. In typical MD fashion (just kiddin, sis!) he insisted on all kinds of tests to 'rule out' serious issues. The first was to donate about 1/2 pint of blood for tests, of course, and then there was wearing the lovely heart monitor for 24 hours and then, to top it all off, a Sleep Study. just the thought of trying to sleep with people watching was enough to keep me awake! But some online friends encouraged me and I went ahead with it. Turns out it IS wierd, and the mask they make you try on makes you look like a space alien . . . . and look at ALL those wires to monitor different stuff. Anyway, I'm fine, turns out I have FOUR apnea 'episodes' per hour and the cutoff for diagnosing sleep apnea is SIX per hour, LOL. Which, in my opinion, is just fine cause I don't see HOW you get used to sleeping in that mask, wow. So, it was good for 'ruling out' apnea problems and cost my insurance company $2,000! and it was a very interesting experience. So, if you ever wonder about Sleep apnea, or a Sleep Study, just ask :) Back to work, Kat

BRADEN JAMES SIMPSON has arrived! 10 lbs worth! Accomplishments

Hi everyone - I've been thinking a lot about Goals lately. One of the Yahoo lists I've been on for ten years occasionally encourages the members to paste their goals for that day. Whenever I participate, it really helps me stay on task and I participate fully.

However, the other night as I was trying to fall asleep (which is when I typically go over my day and plans for the next day), I was upset with and berating myself for all the "goals" I didn't accomplish that day from my list. Suddenly I started wondering what I HAD spent all my time doing! So, I started listing to myself what I had accomplished that day. It felt SO good! So now, I think I may list my goals for the day in the AM and then list my top ten Accomplishments at night. . . .

So, in that spirit, today I have: Attended and participated in a great worship service, Listed all of my weekend book purchases on Amazon, Cropped and corrected my family and football photos from the weekend, participated in our 'family meeting', read the Sunday paper and cut out all the weekly coupons, updated all my MLB and NBA inventory on eBay, invoiced all weekend sales on eBay and Amazon, photoed and listed my newest consignment item - monkeys!, and now I'm catching up on TV with hubby from the TIVO and planning tomorrow!

Happy Sunday night!

Kat

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://katsimpson.blogspot.com/2007/10/goals-vs-accomplishments.html' title='Goals VS.
